Zebra Disable NFC via XML Guide
This guide explains how to disable NFC functionality on Zebra devices using Springdel’s File Sync feature with a Zebra XML profile.
Note: This method works for any Zebra StageNow XML generated by Zebra StageNow.
Key Benefits
- Automated NFC Control – Disable NFC across multiple Zebra devices without manual configuration.
- StageNow Compatibility – Works with any StageNow XML generated by Zebra StageNow.
- Reduced Manual Effort – Eliminate the need for on-device configuration changes.
Step 1 - Upload the XML File
- Upload the provided NFC configuration XML file to your File System in the Springdel console.
- Ensure the file appears in your file list and is accessible.
Step 2 - Create or Edit a Profile
- Create a new profile or open an existing profile that you want to use for NFC control.
Step 3 - Add the XML to File Sync
- Within your selected profile, navigate to the File Sync section.
- Drag and drop the uploaded XML file into the Selected Files area.
- Configure the following parameters:
Setting | Value |
Device Folder Name | /sdcard/Download/ |
Custom Intent | Zebra ImportProfilePath:/sdcard/Download/zebradisablenfc.xml |
Step 4 - Associate the Profile
- Once your profile is configured with the desired file sync configuration, associate the profile with the target fleet.
- Once associated, the file sync configuration will be deployed on all devices in that fleet according to the profile settings.
Step 5 - Verify NFC Is Disabled
- Confirm that each device has successfully downloaded the XML file.
- Check the device’s settings to ensure NFC functionality is now disabled as intended.
Best Practices and Tips
- Test Before Wide Deployment – Apply the configuration to a small set of devices first to ensure it works as intended.
- Keep XML Files Updated – Update your XML configuration files to match Zebra’s latest recommendations.
- Verify Paths and Intents – Ensure the file path and intent match exactly; even small differences can cause the configuration to fail.
