This guide explains how to use the Honeywell Device Provisioning Tool to quickly enroll Honeywell devices into Springdel MDM using customized XML configuration files and barcodes.

Key Benefits

  • Fast & Consistent Device Setup – Provision devices quickly and uniformly.
  • Automated MDM Enrollment – Enroll devices into Springdel without manual input.
  • All-in-One Configuration – Apply Wi-Fi, time zone, and system settings in a single process.
  • Error Reduction – Minimize manual configuration mistakes.

Before You Begin

  1. Download the Honeywell Enterprise Provisioner.

Note: Enterprise Provisioner is a desktop application available only for Windows.

Step 1 - Prepare Your Build and Device Settings

  1. Identify Your Build Number
Confirm your Honeywell device’s build version to ensure compatibility with your settings package.

  2. Locate Your Device Settings Package
    • Match your device model and build version to the correct package.
    • Example: HON660 8x.xx.xx for Build Number 86.00.xxx.

Step 2 - Edit Your Configuration Files

  1. Open the following files:
    • Springdel_DeviceConfig.xml

    • Springdel_Provisioner.xml

  2. In each file, update any fields that must match your Device Settings Package details:

<SettingsPackage>[INPUT YOUR DEVICE SETTINGS PACKAGE HERE] </SettingsPackage>

    • As best practice, you can select your Device Settings Package in the Provisioning Tool.
    • Proceed to export that particular XML file.
    • Open the exported XML file, copy only the Settings Package and paste it in the Springdel XML templates mentioned above.
    • This will ensure you will get the exact path, without error.

Step 3 - Import the XML Files

  1. Launch the Honeywell Device Provisioning Tool.
  2. Go to File > Import.
  3. Select and import your edited Springdel .xml files - Springdel_DeviceConfig.xml and Springdel_Provisioner.xml.

Step 4 - Edit the Provisioning Details

  1. Open your Provisioning Settings.
  2. Click Set Device Owner.
  3. In the EnrollmentID field, enter your unique Springdel Enrollment ID.

Step 5 - Edit Device Configurations

  1. Go to Settings > Device Config.
  • Configure WiFi:
    • Navigate to Wireless and Networks > WiFi > Supplicant > WiFiProfile1.
    • Update the SSID and PSK with your network’s details.
  • Set the Time Zone:
    • Navigate to System > Date and Time.
    • Update your Time Zone to match your region.

Step 6 - Generate Your Enrollment Barcode

  1. Go to the Bar Codes section.
  2. Ensure that Tasks and Device Config are both checked.
  3. Click Generate Bar Codes.

Step 7 - Enroll Your Device

  1. On your Honeywell device, scan the generated barcode.
  2. Your device will automatically apply the configuration, connect to WiFi, set the time zone, and enroll into Springdel MDM.

Best Practices & Tips

  • Verify Network Credentials – Double-check SSID and PSK values to avoid Wi-Fi connection failures.
  • Keep Settings Updated – Ensure your Device Settings Package is current with firmware updates.
  • Test Before Mass Deployment – Validate the configuration by enrolling one device first.
  • Document Your Configuration – Keep a record of XML file versions, package names, and enrollment IDs for troubleshooting.
