How to create either a dedicated single app or multi-app kiosk for your device fleet.
Prerequisites
Before enrolling devices and access to the Google Play Store can be established, ensure the Google Enterprise Account is created.
Add Applications
Go to the Android Enterprise existing profile and click the edit or create a new one by clicking 'CREATE PROFILE' - 'Android Enterprise'.
Click Applications - App Management. Select one or many applications from the managed Google Play Store iFrame. Approve the app in the iFrame and then Select it to add to the profile.
Create a Kiosk
Once the applications are selected, click Kiosk.
By default the Kiosk mode prompt to add an application from the Google Play Store. This is for a single app mode (Dedicated Device) where only one application runs on the device all the time.
To enable multi-app mode and be able to select betwen approved only applications, click multi-app mode. This mode will cause the Managed Google Play Store iFrame to disappear, and all the applications selected in the App Management will be available.
Additional Kiosk Settings
Additional settings to help modify the device Kiosk experience can also be set in the Kiosk creator.
- Power Button Actions - Allow or deny the ability to power off or rest the device.
- System Error Warnings - Determine if warnings or other notifications should be allowed to display while in Kiosk mode.
- System Navigation - Confirm if Navigation beyond the Kiosk is possible, Springdel recommends to leave the default of 'Navigation Disabled'
- Status Bar - Dictate how much informaiton can be shown in the status bar.
- Device Settings - Select if device settings can be accessed by the user.
